I dove headfirst into the world of AI and created this observability platform. It helped users keep their AI models healthy, efficient and I made it intuitive for even non-technical people to use. Plus, Rakuten loved it!

Challenge
AI models are amazing, but they can be unpredictable. They degrade in performance, and it’s hard to track what’s going on. Users needed a way to monitor AI model health in real-time.
I wanted to design an intuitive AI observability platform for technical and non-technical users. My goal was to give them control over their models, with alerts, auto-retrain, and explainability features.
Results
Users were able to monitor their models, get alerts and the platform was also adopted by Rakuten! This also made me realize that I have the potential to create a high-impact AI product.
Process
Learning: When I first started this project, I was a total newbie in AI, so I took a lot of online courses to understand AI principles. I was really fascinated on how AI actually works!
Research: I talked to the AI team to understand the user needs. I then researched the industry and the available AI observability tools. The main user group was also technical, so I focused on how to design it so everyone can easily use it.
Ideation: I then sketched ideas, and wireframed a user flow, focusing on a clean dashboard design. My main goal was to make the user journey easy, where they could manage their model health and retrain them.
Design: The design included a clear dashboard that showed key data points such as model health, alerts and more. The auto-retrain feature was given so that the models automatically retrain whenever there’s any data drift. Also, I made sure the explainability feature is there to give insights on why the model is giving the output.
Conclusion
This project taught me that it doesn't matter if you're an AI newbie, you can still make a huge impact. All you need is a passion to learn, a user-centered mindset and a drive to make things happen! I also learnt that AI observability is a must for all AI companies.
I'm proud of this project for showing my flexibility and my desire to dive head first into anything and create amazing things, even if it’s totally new!
