Beyond Monitoring: AI Transforming Animal Care, Real-Time
I built this Video Intelligence Platform, a real-time AI-powered monitoring system for LSET, a client of Eizen. I learned how to understand the zookeepers’ world and give them the insights that they needed to provide better care.

Challenge
LSET, a client of Eizen has a private zoo, needed a better way to monitor their rare animals. Their traditional methods were slow, and they lacked real-time insights. They needed a system that gave them a clear picture of what was happening and allow them to take data driven action. The zookeepers also needed a mobile solution, so they can access all the data and take action on the go.
My challenge was to design an AI-powered system that gave real-time monitoring, detailed analytics, and an intuitive user experience for zookeepers, both on web and mobile. And, it needed to be scalable for different animals and environments too! Also, we saw the potential to expand into other industries such as healthcare.
Results
This platform completely changed the game! It reduced manual observation time by a whopping 75%, and the real-time alerts were 98% accurate! The zookeepers adopted the system and made better, data-driven decisions.
I gave demos of the video intelligence platform to 8 different clients, and 3 of them decided to onboard and use our product!. The designs that I created also showed the potential for the product in 5+ industries like Healthcare, Automotive, Manufacturing, etc.

Process
Research & Analysis: I visited LSET Zoo, talked with the zookeepers, and observed the animals. I wanted to really understand their day-to-day challenges. Then, I also researched their mobile needs and usage scenarios.

Ideation: I went to the drawing board with early wireframes and sketches, exploring various UI layouts for the dashboard, and analytics design. I worked on the tenant-level architecture to allow for multiple businesses to use the product.

Design: I chose a horizontal bar graph for the activity timeline, making it super easy to see when the animals were active. Also, a real time video snippet was also given to the user. Then I designed the dashboard to include live videos, activity timelines and real time alerts to make all the information easy to access and manage. And, not to forget Elina, the interactive AI assistant! I designed her to help the users understand their data!
I designed the mobile version to focus on simplicity and efficiency. Key features like real-time alerts, video streaming and access to Elina were easily accessible on the mobile platform. The UI was made mobile friendly with larger touch targets and a responsive design to fit various screen sizes. The goal was to give the zookeepers access to vital data anytime, anywhere.
Iteration: Based on feedback from the zookeepers, I made a bunch of improvements—like better filters, historical trends, more alerts through emails and Whatsapp, and other tweaks to make sure everything was perfect for them! I love taking user feedback.

Healthcare Expansion
I explored the use cases of the video intelligence platform in the healthcare sector, focusing on patient monitoring, post-surgery recovery, and efficient patient care. I also created a product video showcasing the video intelligence platform’s capabilities and its potential in healthcare. The video highlighted use cases such as patient monitoring, and recovery tracking, by using interactive prototypes to showcase the functionalities of the platform.
Conclusion
This project showed me the power of user-centered design, and that AI integration can dramatically improve the user experience. It also taught me the importance of communication, and I also learned that I'm capable of designing products for any industry with focus and dedication.
This was so exciting for me. Seeing the product come to life, with a very smooth end to end process made me excited about the future of AI and design! I'm always down for a challenge!
